Description
The first question your friends will ask you when they hear that you have returned from Egypt will most likely be: “Have you seen the pyramids?” Because everyone has heard about the pyramids in Giza. After all, it is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Would you like to know what it feels like to stand right next to these amazing historical monuments? Have them at your fingertips? Just come with us on a trip from Hurghada to Cairo!
A trip to Cairo with the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square, the pyramids and the Sphinx takes place three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
Full program of the trip to Cairo
For a trip to Cairo from Hurghada, you will be picked up from the hotel where you are checked in. Depending on the hotel, we pick you up either from the hotel reception or in front of the hotel gate. (In some hotels, security does not allow local offices to enter the hotel premises). In the case of a small number of people from a given area, we pick you up from the hotel by bus or car, BUT for the trip from Hurghada to Cairo (Museum + pyramids) you usually go by a large bus . The tour will start with a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. This is an “old museum”. The new museum is still closed. Most of the exhibits, including over 1,700 objects from Tutankhamun’s Tomb, including the pharaoh’s golden mask, are still located in this museum in Tahrir Square.
After visiting the Egyptian Museum, you will go to the pyramids in Giza. There you will be able to see the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Middle Pyramid of Khafre, and the Small Pyramid of Menkaure, as well as the Sphinx. Entrance to the center of the pyramids is subject to an additional fee. Lunch during the trip to Cairo is a part of the package. Drinks during the tour are subject to an additional charge.
After visiting the pyramids, your guide will take you to the perfumery under the pyramids, where you will be able to smell and buy Egyptian oils. There is no market in the tour program, but you can also buy souvenirs under the pyramids or at the museum, although it is worth haggling hard with the sellers.
For those interested in the trip, there is also a cruise on the Nile. The Nile cruise is an additional fee which is €15 per person and is not a mandatory part of the trip, but people who do not use it wait for the rest of the group on the bus. Depending on the time of arrival in Cairo, sometimes the cruise takes place in the morning as the first attraction, sometimes later in the day. But you can take this cruise on any trip to Cairo.
At the end of the tour we will take you back to your hotel. On the way back we also stop at the inn. After arriving in Hurghada, you sometimes change to other vehicles to make the transfer more efficient.
